In response to a Board motion of March 7, 2000, the Chief Administrative Office (CAO) has been directed to undertake a child care needs assessment of County Employees. In compliance with the Board motion, the CAO has contracted an outside firm to administer a phone survey of a random sample of employees with children under age six (6). In order to maximize the likelihood of successful responses, as well as to reduce the time needed to conduct the survey, the CAO will provide the contractor with the work, as well as home phone numbers of 1,000 employees to be surveyed.

The survey instrument consists of 33 questions and takes approximately 10 minutes to answer. The contractor will be directed to initially attempt to contact employees at home. The work number is to be used only if the home number is incorrect or the employee is otherwise unreachable.
