The Fringe Benefit MOUs for both the Coalition of County Unions and Local 660, as well as County Code Section 5.40.190, provide that on July 1, 2000, the mileage reimbursement rate will be adjusted to reflect the current standard rate established by the Internal Revenue Service and the value of automobile insurance as determined by the Consumer Price Index. Based on the current data, the new mileage reimbursement rate will be 27.5 cents per mile for all miles driven, effective on July 1, 2000. This represents an increase of one and one-half cents from the current rate of 26 cents per mile.
