The Department of Children and Family services is committed to assisting every young person emancipating from foster care with his or her educational goals. This includes youth interested in attending trade schools, community colleges and four-year colleges or universities. The DCFS Scholarship program will assist youth in meeting post-secondary expenses when all other available sources of scholarships and loans are utilized.

The scholarship application is attached. This application should be completed by or on behalf of any high school senior who is in out-of-home care and may need financial assistance. Documentation supporting financial need should be forwarded upon receipt.
