PROCEDURAL CHANGES FOR FILING AMENDED PETITIONS  

Per a directive from Judge Terry Friedman (see reverse), effective immediately, amended petitions shall not be filed as a means for adding the names of children not addressed in the original WIC 300 petition.  Juvenile Court Services’ (JCS’) Intake and Detention Control (IDC) has instituted the following procedures:

1. Amended petitions will only be filed when CSWs are adding new allegations to a petition that has not been adjudicated.
   
   

2. A new WIC 300 petition is now required whenever CSWs are seeking to file on a new child and the petition for the siblings has not been adjudicated.
   
   

3. JCS’ Court Liaison will no longer file amended petitions to 
   add siblings to a petition.  They will refer regional staff to
   IDC.
