SUPPLEMENTAL CLOTHING ALLOWANCE

 As the result of the passage of AB 2876, foster children are entitled to receive a supplemental clothing allowance of $100.00 per year, subject to the availability of funds.  This clothing allowance is used to supplement, and not supplant, the regular initial/replacement or back-to-school clothing allowances.  This allowance will be issued to all foster family homes (including non-Kin-GAP relatives) and to foster family agencies.  Group homes are excluded.

 This automatic allowance is scheduled to be issued on April 18, 2001.  The warrants will include a stuffer notice to inform the caregiver of the purpose of the check.  Because this is an automatic issuance, staff need not take any action.
